Yonthia (Sandy)
Sandy is the image of quiet and unflappable calmness. She seems to approach everything in life with a level-headed cool that has served her well, whether as a nurse in the intensive care unit or as a second wife and step-mother in a complicated and often dysfunctional family.
I've never seen Sandy fall apart the way that Yonthia does in the confrontation with Kali or during the wedding ceremony. And so I'm not entirely certain why I wrote her character that way, although I know I did it on purpose and not just because it made sense for the story. Perhaps I was trying to explore a part of her character that I have never seen in real life, but that I suspect may be there anyway.
